We talked to Philips Oral Healthcare's Cindy Sensabaugh about how to choose the best one. "Effective whitening toothpastes typically contain three active ingredients that are positioned to help remove surface stains and whiten teeth: mild abrasives, hydrogen peroxide, and carbamide peroxide," Sensabaugh tells us. Keep an eye out for these ingredients (especially mild abrasives as they need the least contact time) when toothpaste hunting.
