What a great idea! I love using coconut oil for a lip scrub, but I’ve never tried making a tinted balm. Definitely trying! 🙂

      Hi Kristyn,

I would recommend no more than 3 months, but if you add a couple of drops of vitamin E oil you can extend it well past that.

      Hi Pirah,

You can try i,t but I’d add very little at first so it doesn’t come out too deep in color. You can always add more if you need to. Let me know how it turns out.

My ten year old daughter and I made this for Christmas gifts. We added about 6 to 8 drops of peppermint oil. It feels great and was so easy to make.

I’ve looked for essential oils like orange, cherry, etc. I find “flavoring”when I search those items. Can I use them and does it affect the shelf life? Can I use food color rather than lipstick?

Hi Karee, I’ve never tried it but I’d think you could use food color. Let me know how it turns out. 🙂 Kelli
